Marbling Made Easy Tutorial- Guest Post by Tricia

I got Color club's new Back to Boho collection today and just wanted to try them out, so I decided to share a way to do marble without all the mess. Its a great way to do marble toes. I personally hate doing water marbling, its too messy and does not always turn out right(depending on the temperature and brand of polish etc.) Its also a bit time consuming, since the water has to be dried thoroughly before top coat application. Using this method, the designs can be pre- made and just applied when wanted. Here's what to use:

Nail polishes (I used Color club's Blue Topia & Shabby drab)
Toothpick
Plastic paper/ wax paper
Metal pusher

*note: Plastic paper should be a thick and strong, like a ziplock bag material. Its should be strong enough not to be torn easily and smooth/glossy enough so that the polish can be peeled off with easy.

1)lay a generous amount of nail polish on paper
2)Add drops of other colors
3)using the toothpick draw lines to create marble designs
4)Leave to dry for about an hour
5)When dry, gently peel off the paper, and cut into pieces large enough to cover nails
6)Apply base coat to natural nails
7)Wrap marble design on nail while base coat is slightly wet, press and smooth it with finger tips so it sticks onto nails well
8)Using a metal pusher press along the corners of the nail then tear off the excess around the nail and free edge.
9)Apply top coat

* Dried polish can also be cut into the exact shape of nail to avoid step 8 and just pressed on. It can also be cut into a perfect french shape to cover nail tips.

The other colors I used on the remaining fingers were Antiquated, Perfect Mol-ten, hot like lava.

Great Tutorial Tricia! If you would like to see more of Tricia's work, check her out on facebook at Tricia's Nail Artistry. What do you think about this? Are you going to try it?

  1. This is fantastic! Much easier way to marble a child's nails rather than with all the water and stuff.
